CROOKSTON GUN CLUB TO HOLD BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT ON THURSDAY NIGHT

The third of four events of the Crookston Gun Club’s second year of Ladies Nights is happening tonight at the Crookston Gun Club with the theme of “Back to School,” where after the stressful time of helping their children prepare for school, ladies can take out that stress on their shopping lists.

Keeping with this week’s theme of Minnesota Schools reopening earlier this week, the Gun Club is treating moms that have been stressing with their children in finding all of the school supplies they need with a way they can celebrate making it through the summer and the school shopping. “We all know how stressful getting our kids ready for back to school can be, especially school supply shopping, one of my most dreaded things,” Gun Club Secretary Amy Ellingson said. “So, you celebrate the kids getting out of the house for the summer, surviving summer, and being done with all of the back-to-school craziness. Just a nice stress reliever to bring your guns out and your school supply shopping list, which we’ll use as our target.” The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and goes until dark, and will work similarly to an open house, allowing the participants to come and go as they please during that time. “It’s definitely a no-pressure area if you’re new to guns or you have a new gun you want to try out, or you’re experienced, it’s a place for anyone. You don’t have to be a mom and have kids that you had to shuffle off to the first day of school. Everyone is welcome. We enjoy having everyone out there and having the opportunity to show everyone what the Gun Club has to offer.”

Along with being able to shoot their shopping lists, the Club will have the range open for people to shoot normally with their guns and will also open both the trap houses and archery range if people are interested in using them. The Club also recommends that people bring their own firearms to the event, but if there are any new members that wish to join or a member wants to try something new, the Club will provide a few for the event. The final event of the year’s Ladies Night will be on Saturday, October 22, where the Club will help ladies that need their gun’s scopes sighted in for their hunting rifles in preparation for Deer Season, which begins on November 5. And while the Gun Club has ended its summer league for trap shooting, it will open the trap range on Monday and Wednesday nights later in the fall.

The Crookston Gun Club Ladies’ Night “Back to School” event will be tonight, from 6:30 p.m. to dusk, at the Crookston Gun Club shooting range at 26251 240th St. SW, with the final event for the year will be on Saturday, October 22. If you have any questions about the events, would like to book a private event, or assist in the “Self-Defense Night,” you can contact Club Secretary Amy Ellingson at 320-894-0061 or Alicia Berhow at 218-289-1623.
