CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL ARTISTS RECEIVE CASH PRIZES FOR THEIR WORK

Crookston High School Art students showed their art at the juried art show at the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council.  Each spring, the show is held showcasing and recognizing winners in five categories and three Crookston students brought home cash awards.

Elysa Christensen won Merit in Sculpture (best sculpture in show) for her work titled “Fifth Dimension.”  Christensen received a $50 cash prize.

Adriana Isum won second overall for her painting “Serenity.”  Isum received a $150 prize and the art was selected to hang in the lobby of Senator Mark Johnson’s office in the Office Building of the State Capitol in St. Paul for the next year.

Logan Johnson won 1st place overall for his piece entitled “Because I Could.”  He showed his hand-carved chess set and board and earned a $300 cash prize.
