Crookston High School is getting ready to celebrate its seniors at graduation. The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium. There are 82 candidates for graduation. The Class Flower is the White Rose. The Class Colors are blue and gold. The Class Motto is – “All dreams are within reach. All you have to do is keep moving towards them.” – Viola Davis
Wednesday is Senior Fun Day, a long-standing tradition for the graduating class. “They are going to go to Trinity Point, which is on Maple Lake,” says Guidance Counselor Tara Klein. They will be back around 2:00 p.m., and then they will be done. That will be it.”
The seniors don’t have school on Thursday or Friday, but Friday will be a full day for the seniors. “About 7:30 a.m., there is a Senior/Faculty breakfast, and then right around 8-8:15 a.m., we load the buses,” says Klein. “We will go to Cathedral School. The seniors will wear their caps and gowns, and they get to walk Cathedral. Some of them will visit teachers, and then they will go to Highland School to walk through the hallways. The kids love it.”
After visiting Cathedral and Highland they head back to the high school. “They walk the high school, go into the bleachers, and take their last senior photos together as a group,” says Klein. “Then we go through graduation practice. We will work out all of our kinks for that night. They are done as soon as they finish their rehearsal, and then that night they need to be back here about 6:30 p.m.”
The student speakers will be: Joey Nesseth and Georgia Sanders, who will do a speech together, Grace Smith, and Brandon Colburn. The faculty speaker, as selected by the students, will be Tim Moe.
Graduation for Crookston High School is Friday, May 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. If you can’t make it, KROX will video stream the graduation ceremony live.
