CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAM WINS TRF COMPETITION

The Crookston High School Knowledge Bowl teams competed in the All School competition in Thief River Falls with one of the Pirate teams winning the competition.  The two Crookston teams finished first and 11th place out of 42 teams.
The top Crookston team was comprised of Ben Brantner, Scott Cordova, Josh Bernia, Walker Winjum, and Tai Baig.  It was the second time the Crookston team won a competition this season (the first at UMC on January 8) and they also have a second place finish at Thief River Falls on January 16.  The second team that placed 11th and consisted of Emily Gillette, Katherine Geist, Eliza Meyer, Lily Sandman, Anke Wiersma, and Ella Weber.

“We have 17 kids in knowledge bowl this year,” said Pirate Knowledge Bowl Coach Kristen Alston.  “We are bringing 2-3 teams to each meet and our top two teams are very competitive and winning consistently.  Our next meet is on Tuesday at UMC.”
