CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS NOMINATED FOR EXCEL AWARD

The Crookston Public School District announced their nominations for this year’s ExCEL award. Kaylee Clauson and Teagen Lubinski were selected to represent Crookston.

The ExCEL Award – Excellence in Community, Education, and Leadership – is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community.

Kaylie is the daughter of Rich and Carrie Clauson and is involved in Honor Roll, Leo Club, Student Council, Yearbook, Tennis, Hockey, Golf, Concert, Marching, and Pep Band. She also participates in community service by volunteering as a Church Sunday School Teacher, a Youth Board member, and a Bible School Teacher.

Teagen is the son of Jeremy and Jenny Lubinski and is involved in Honor Roll, LEO Club, Football, Hockey, Baseball, Concert, Marching, and Pep Band. He also participates in community service by volunteering at church and as a Youth Hockey Referee, a Youth Baseball Umpire, a Youth Hockey Coach, and a Youth Baseball Coach.

Award recipients will be selected by an independent panel of judges from schools throughout Minnesota. Each recipient will be recognized on KSTC-TV (45TV) during the broadcast of the 2022 winter tournaments. They also will participate in an on-court award ceremony during the Class AA championship game of the Girls Basketball State Tournament in March. Award winners will be announced on February 6, 2024, on the MSHSL website.
