CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL TO HOLD A CELEBRATION FOR THE WRESTLING TEAM ON MONDAY

The Crookston High School will be holding a celebration to honor the 2021 Crookston Pirates Wrestling Team who won the  Section 8A Championship on Saturday in Cass Lake with a win over Badger/Greenbush-Middle River.  It is the first section championship since 1988 and only the second ever in program history.  The Pirates didn’t get to celebrate too long after the championship because they wrestled in the first round of the state tournament about 30 minutes later and lost to Royalton.

The Pirate Wrestling celebration will be Monday morning.  At 9:00 a.m. the team will load a bus at Crookston High School and take a trip around town escorted by the police and fire department.  Once back at CHS the team will then enter CHS and go into the gym for a ceremony.

The Crookston High School is asking that any community members that wish to celebrate the Wrestling team, gather on the front sidewalk at the high school and greet the team as they get off the bus.

The team will then have a short program in the gym with the student body.  The program will be live-streamed on KROXAM.com and the KROX Youtube channel.
