CROOKSTON JR. HIGH BASEBALL WINS SACRED HEART TOURNEY

The Crookston Pirate Junior High Baseball team won three games in the Sacred Heart tournament to win the championship in East Grand Forks.
In the first game, Crookston beat Sacred Heart 11-2. 
In the semi-finals, Crookston beat Kittson County Central 9-8 on a walk-off single by Hunter Kresl.  
In the championship game, Crookston beat East Grand Forks 14-11.  Crookston led 9-0 and EGF scored 10 straight runs to take a 10-9 lead, but the Pirates answered with five runs and they held on for the 14-11 victory to win the championship. 

Members of the team are Cayden Ames, Jaren Bailey, Ethan Bowman, Richard Burch, Jackson Demarais, Dokken Erdman, Layten Fuentes, Hunter Knutson, Hunter Kresl, Tatum Lubinski, Zachary Tahren, Braxton Volker, George Widman, Carter Coautte, Koda Donarski, Blake Melsa, Lucas Miller, Spencer Ness, and Anthony Reading.  The team is coached by Don Edlund.
