CROOKSTON LEGION AUXILIARY ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY TO “PURPLE UP FOR MILITARY KIDS” APRIL 15

The Department of Defense has designated April as the Month of the Military Child. It is an opportunity to applaud military families and their children for the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome.

Thursday, April 15 is “Purple UP for Military Kids.” Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their sacrifices. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported – Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all combine as a single color, purple.

Thursday, April 15 is “Purple UP for Military Kids.” The American Legion Auxiliary Nels T Wold Unit 20 in Crookston is asking the Crookston community to wear purple in support of military kids on Thursday, April 15, especially those that have just had parents deploy for a year this past month. If you know a family that was directly affected by the deployment this would be a good day to touch base and see how they are doing.
