Crookston Park and Rec youth softball teams hosted a tournament on Thursday will all the diamonds being utilized and they had a first, second and third-place finish.
The Crookston Ponies played a double round-robin and beat Win-E-Mac/Fosston 6-0, they beat Red Lake Falls 6-5 in the first round of the round-robin. In the second round of the round-robin, Crookston beat Win-E-Mac/Fosston 5-4 and lost to Red Lake Falls 6-5 in extra innings. Crookston and Red Lake Falls had a tie with three wins apiece so the tiebreaker was total runs and Crookston was the champion. Members of the team are Jordan Bryant, Karena Longoria, Alex Luna, Haley Leckie, Katelyn Ringstand, Addie Fee, Shayla Azure, Dukessa Ramirez, Ella Meyer, Carley Knutson, and Adelia Weiland.
The team is coached by Kenze Epema and Jasmin Hanson.
The Crookston Bantams team 2 beat Win-E-Mac 6-0, beat Crookston 1 5-0 and lost to Red Lake Falls 2-1 in the championship to finish second place. Members of the team are Teegan Johnson, Peyton Hoffman, Lucy Paulsrud, Brea Lessard, Mollie Samuelson, Destiny Baglien, Peyton Demerais, Cora Prudhomme, Blake Brockpahler, Mya Bower, and Leia Parkin. The team is coached by Jenna Coauette and Eden Haller.
The Crookston Bantams team 1 lost to Red Lake Falls 5-0, beat Fosston 7-0 and lost to Crookston 2 5-0 to finish third place. Members of the team are Leah Johanneck, Allysen Wagner, Rilynn Aubol, Adley Vigness, Brylee Darco, Lilli Bridgeford, Madi Abrams, Hailey Fritz, Kenze Lindo, Allize Barrientez, Lacey Follette, Elle Pierson, Ella Anderson, and Shyuh Burnette. The team is coached by Hannah Emanuel, Kylee Meyer, and Kaydin Brule.
