CROOKSTON PIRATE GIRLS GOLF TIES FOR 4TH PLACE AT PARK RAPIDS INVITE

On Tuesday, the Crookston Pirate Girls Golf team finished in a tie for fourth place out of 10 teams while shooting a 422 at the Park Rapids Invitational.  Fergus Falls won the meet with a 342, 22 strokes better than Moorhead.  

Grace Fischer led the Pirates with a 99, good for 17th place individually.  On the front nine, Grace recorded two pars, four bogies, two double bogies, and one triple bogey for a 47.  On the back nine, she had two pars, four bogies, a triple bogey, and a quadruple bogey, and she recorded a nine on the par-four 14th hole for a 52. 

Kaylie Clauson played her first varsity round of the year and turned in the second-best Pirate score with a 103. On the front nine, she had one par, five bogies, and three double bogies for a 47.  The front nine didn’t go as well, with one par, one bogey, three double bogies, three triple bogies, and one quadruple bogey for a 56. 

Ava Martin had the third-best Pirate score with a 108.  On the front nine, she had one par, two bogies, five double bogies, and one triple bogey for a 51.  On the back nine, Martin had two bogies, three double bogies, three triple bogies, and one quadruple bogey for a 57. 

Halle Nicholas was the fourth and final score the Pirates used for the team score with a 112.  On the front nine, she had one par, two bogies, three double bogies, two triple bogies, and one quadruple bogey for a 54.  On the back nine, she had one par, four double bogies, three triple bogies, and a nine on the par 4 10th hole for a 58. 

Georgia Sanders turned in a 116.  On the front nine, she had one bogey, five double bogies, one triple bogey, one quadruple bogey, and a 10 on the par-5 ninth hole for a 59. On the back nine, she had one bogey, six double bogies, one triple bogey, and a 10 on the par-five 15th hole for a 57.

Emelia Hoerner, in her first varsity round, shot a 122.  On the front nine, she had five double bogies, two triple bogies, a quadruple bogey, and shot a 10 on the par-five fourth hole for a 61.  Hoerner was consistent with another 61 on the back nine with five double bogies, one triple bogey, and three triple bogies.

Crookston will be back in action on Wednesday when they play in the East Grand Forks triangular at Valley Golf Course.
