Aamoth added another second-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:26.93. “(Mackenzie Aamoth) continues to look great in her 100-back stroke and her 100-butterfly. The Pirates added one final second-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle relay as the team of Fallon Johnson, Claire Oman, Mackenzie Aamoth, and Madison Hoiland finished in 5:04.28. Claire Oman’s third-place finish in the 200-meter IM also earned praise from her head coach, “I think Claire Oman had a pretty fantastic 200-IM. She’s another one that continues to gain confidence and gain strength in her events, and I think it is going to do well. She needs to find that confidence.” Overall, Melbye was pleased with her team’s performance, “we had good races all around. Our girls are learning. They’re growing and finding their second races. The relays are coming together. It was another great learning opportunity for the girls.”
