Members of the Crookston Pirate Speech Team competed at the Blackduck Drakes speech challenge on Saturday to wrap up the regular season. Four Pirates placed, with Zac Plante taking home 2nd in Creative Expression, Nashelle Tellez taking home 4th in Original Oratory, Lilly Olmstead taking home 5th in Storytelling, and Hamsini Chanda taking home 5th in Original Oratory. Also competing were Ciaran Mulvey and Hilary Weber. The Pirates will compete in the Subsections competition on March 30th at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in Glyndon.
