Crookston High School Marching Band Director Caitlin Becks has released the 2022 Crookston Pirate Marching Band practice and parade schedule. All the information from Mrs. Becks is below –
Dear High School Band Families,
The summer Marching Band schedule is ready for you to put in your family calendars! In an effort to minimize conflicts, we have scheduled our rehearsals before fall sports begin, and have communicated our parade dates with the fall sports coaches. Please read this letter closely, as it contains a lot of important information!
*All students in 9th-12th grade band are expected to participate in summer marching band rehearsals and parades! The rehearsals are for us to get to know our ensemble’s new sound with the incoming freshmen, and the parades are an opportunity for us to represent Crookston away from home. We need all hands on deck!

UNIFORMS: Students will be assigned a uniform at the start of marching season. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure the uniform is stored properly in its garment bag, and to keep the cuffs, gloves, and hat in the assigned hat box. SHOES: Students are expected to wear WHITE marching shoes for Marching Band events. Please order shoes ahead of time so everyone has them for rehearsals/parades! Walmart usually has nice white tennis shoes that will work, but you can find marching shoes online at the link listed below. Order the WHITE “Glide” shoe.
Marching Band Shoes: https://bandshoesonline.com/product/glide-marching-shoe/ *If you are unable to acquire marching shoes before August, please contact Mrs. Becks. We have a few extra pairs of shoes at school, but sizes are limited. First come, first served!
GREEN SHEETS: If there is a parade event when a student will be meeting the band at the location instead of riding the bus with us to or from the event, please bring a signed green sheet to Mrs. Becks at least 1 day prior to that event. Reminder: Students are not allowed to drive themselves! Parents/Guardians need to check in with Mrs. Becks before you leave the event. This is a CHS protocol to make sure our students are safe and accounted for!
SCHEDULE CONFLICTS: If there is a conflict and a student cannot attend a parade, parents/guardians should notify Mrs. Becks at least 1 week prior to the event! This is to help us plan ahead for our instrumentation and ensemble setup for the parades.
I hope you all have a fantastic summer, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again in August! If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me. The best way to reach me during the summer is via email or through the Remind app.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Caitlin Becks
