The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Volleyball team lost all three of their matches by 2-0 scores and didn’t get a fourth match in the Barnesville Invitational played at the Barnesville High School.
CROOKSTON VS FERTILE-BELTRAMI
Crookston lost to Fertile-Beltrami 2-0 (25-13, 25-9) in the first match of the day. “It was a tough first match,” said Pirate Coach Ashley Stopa. “Fertile-Beltrami is a good team and we didn’t seem like we were ready to go in the first match.”

CROOKSTON VS HAWLEY
Crookston lost to the Hawley Nuggets 2-0 (25-13, 25-20) in the second match of the day. “Hawley is very good and we played okay in the first match,” said Coach Stopa. “I was really happy with the way the girls played in the second set. We lost 25-20, but we played much better and it was nice to see the girls make the improvement from the first to second set.”

CROOKSTON VS BRECKENRIDGE
Crookston lost to the Breckenridge Cowgirls 2-0 (25-13, 25-12) in the final match of the day. “We struggled in the match. It was the last match of the day and it seemed like both teams were tired,” said Coach Stopa. “We need to communicate better, but I thought we had some good blocking today and there were some other positives. We have to get ready for another match on Tuesday.”
Crookston will travel to Warroad on Tuesday for a match at 7:30 p.m.
