Crookston Planning Commission recomends the City Council approves requests from Nature View Twins Homes

The Crookston Planning Commission met on Tuesday evening at the Crookston City Hall council chambers.

The commission discussed a conditional use permit request from Nature View Twin Homes LLC for four parcels on Eickhof Boulevard.
Nature View requested a conditional use permit to allow townhomes, a variance permit request allowing no separation between lots, and a replat of Nature View Estates lots 1-4, Block 1 and Nature View Estates plat 5 Outlot B to Nature View Twin Homes plat.  “We had a discussion regarding a variance and a conditional use and a replot of the Nature View estate, the original plat. The plat is being redesigned just because converting duplexes into townhomes required several conditions to be met, all codependent on each other to proceed to the council,” said Crookston Building Official Greg Hefta. “It was agreed by the planning committee that everything seems to be met. And as far as ordinances, they were in tune with what the City of Crookston intends for new residential homes.”

The twin homes at 905 and 907 Eickhof Boulevard were originally intended for rental, but the owner, Bob Herkenhoff, requested that the structure be built so it could be sold in the future as two individual properties. “Now they’ll be available for the city of Crookston residents, and there’ll be a little more home variety available for the city of Crookston residents,” said Hefta. “It’s a good thing for the city of Crookston.”

The planning commission agreed that they will recomend the City Council approve the request.
