The Crookston Police Department responded to WalMart, 1930 Sahlstrom Drive in Crookston at about 6:30 PM on Sunday, January 6 on a report of an assault. Joshua Baatz, 25 of Crookston stated he was assaulted when an employee; Patricia Mendrano, 53 of Grand Forks, allegedly knocked a cell phone out of his hand during a conversation in which Mendrano was reviewing Baatz’ receipt.
The incident is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the City Attorney for review and possible charges.
