CROOKSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY TO OFFER TECH HELP ON MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY THROUGH FEBRUARY

Did you receive a new Kindle, Ipad, tablet, or laptop for Christmas and don’t know how to set it up or use it?  Interested in using Facebook or other social media for the first time to connect with friends?  The Crookston Library is here to help with it’s new ‘Ask a Techspert Technology Assistance’ program.

Alyssa Lennander, youth services librarian, said the program will help people navigate the basics and give them a foundation for using their new technology. “Ask a Techspert is a program we’re doing throughout January and February to help people who may have gotten a new piece of technology for Christmas,” said Lennander. “So, if you have an Ipad, tablet, Kindle, laptop, people can come in and we can help them set it up, navigate the basics to give them a foundation on how to use their new technology.”

Lennander said the program started at the Lake Agassiz Regional Library in Moorhead, and with people receiving technology as gifts for Christmas, the Crookston Library thought it would bring the program here. “Moorhead, our headquarters, they do it year-round,” said Lennander. “Since so many people get new stuff for Christmas we thought it would be a good idea to bring it to Crookston for two months.   I should say, even if you don’t have something new but you still want help on the computer, they could stop in for us to them do something on our public computers or even navigating Facebook for the first time.  We can do that.”

The ‘techsperts’ will be available at the Crookston Library every Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. throughout the months of January and February.
