CROOKSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY BOOK CLUB TO MEET JULY 23 AND HOST A PLANETARIUM ON JULY 31

The Crookston Public Library invites readers to join its Reading by the Red Book Club, which invites adults of all ages to meet in the library’s beautiful River Room to discuss a variety of widely-read books. The selected title for July is Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, with a discussion to be held Tuesday, July 23 at 6:00 p.m. This reflective summer read features a family who owns a cherry orchard in Northern Michigan. The Crookston Public Library also hosts the Book & Brews Book Club, which meets at Drafts Sports Bar & Grill and invites adults to discuss what they’ve been reading and enjoy beverages.
Their next meeting will feature The Beach at Summerly by Beatriz Williams and will be held Tuesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their own food and drinks.

A fun event for youth is also scheduled Wednesday, July 31 at 2 p.m., featuring the Minnesota State University Moorhead planetarium. The program will be held at the library and is offered free-of-charge, as part of Lake Agassiz Regional Library’s outer space-themed Summer Library Experience.
