The Crookston Reds fell to the Moorhead Mudcats 8-1 after just six innings when both teams agreed to end the game due to limited pitching in a non-League game played at Jim Karn Field.
Moorhead jumped out to an early lead with a two-our RBI single through the left side of the infield giving the Mudcats a 1-0 lead in the second inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Owen Ellefson led off the inning with a triple to right center field. A dropped fly ball in right field off the bat of Bailey Schmitz tying the game at 1-1. In the top of the fifth inning a double and single to start the inning followed by three staright singles with two outs plated three more Mudcats’ runs giving the visitors a 4-1 lead. The Mudcats added four more runs in the top of the sixth inning before the two teams agreed to call the game due to limited pitching depth in this non-League game with Moorhead awarded the 8-1 win.
The Crookston Reds fall to 10-12 and will return to the diamond on Saturdat when they host the Moorhead Miners at Jim Karn Field with first pitch scheduled for 1:35 PM.
