CROOKSTON SCHOOL BOARD WILL MEET ON MONDAY TO HOLD TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING

The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m. inside the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra Room. The meeting is open to the public, with public hearings for visitors who wish to share concerns with the school board.

The Main Agenda will include a Hearing on the Truth in Taxation and to certify the Levy Payable for 2023. It will also include approving the World’s Best Workforce/Achievement & Integration Report, the third and final reading of Policy Updates 208, 209, 210, 410, 415, 417, 515, 603, 604, and 708, and the third and final reading of Policy 722 and Public Data Requests.

The Consent Agenda will include the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting that took place on November 28 and to accept a $2,500 donation from the Fraternal Order of Eagles of $2,500 to be used for Special Needs Students’ sensory equipment.

The board will then hold a Feature Program of Title I and ELL Updates presented by Sara Geist and Erica Uttermark.

The board will then hear Administrative Reports from Washington School Principal Denice Oliver, Highland Elementary Principal Chris Trostad, and Crookston High School Principal Matt Torgerson about events and progress at their respective schools. Crookston Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dave Kuehn will also give a report about actions and plans for the school district.

The next Crookston School Board meeting will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra Room, but will also have a School Board Working Session on Monday, December 19, at 4:00 p.m. in the Crookston District Office to meet with the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) about the upcoming Superintendent Search.
