The Crookston School District WILL CONTINUE the grab and go and delivery meal service throughout the shelter in place orders from Governor Tim Walz. “We recognize that food access is essential during this time and are confident that our operations still allow for adequate social distancing,” said Crookston School District Food Service Director. “We want to thank all those that have taken advantage of this program during the emergency closure of the school and we intend on continuing it for the duration of the school closure.”
They are now serving over 300 meals a day. If anyone 18 years of age and younger are in need of a meal, you (or a parent or guardian) are encouraged to stop by the Highland Elementary School front entrance from 11:00 am-1:00 pm each regular school day. If you can not access the school, you can request a delivery by calling 281-5600 after 9:00 am to set up a delivery schedule. All meals are free. Any questions about the program can also be directed to 281-5600.
“I, personally, would like to send a sincere “Thank You” to my wonderful food service staff who have made this possible for our community during this unpredictable time. I’m so impressed with their willingness to help out and do whatever is asked of them,” said Ogaard-Brekken. “They have gone above and beyond their job duties to ensure food access for all children. I am very grateful for their hard work and taking on so much of this load when I cannot be physically present. They are an awesome team to be a part of!”
