CROOKSTON SPEECH TEAM HOSTS MEET TO WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON

The Crookston Pirate Speech team hosted its last regular season competition on Saturday, with a total of 12 schools competing. This is the second varsity tournament that Crookston has hosted, with 112 students competing across all 13 MSHSL Speech categories. 

Crookston’s Shayla Azure and Zac Plante took 1st place in duo interpretation, and Leah Johanneck took 3rd place in original oratory. Also competing included Brandon Wandrie in original oratory, Jaden Newquist in drama, Shayla Azure, Zac Plante, and John Lisov in humor, Ciaran Mulvey in prose, and Ivan Luckow in discussion.

The Pirates will compete at the Subsection 30A tournament in Glyndon, and the top four competitors in each category will then advance to the Section 8A tournament.


Brandon Wandrie, John Lisov, Ciaran Mulvey, Ivan Luckow, Jaden Newquist, Leah Johanneck, Shayla Azure, and Zac Plante.
