CROOKSTON’S DAN MORLAN STEPS DOWN AS POLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY TREASURER

The Polk County Historical Society (PCHS) held its 2020 annual meeting recently where Dan Morlan of Crookston stepped as the organization’s treasurer after serving in that role for 20 years. Morlan’s last official duty was presenting the annual financial report to the board.

President Anne Muir presented Morlan with a personalized hourglass for reaching the significant milestone of 20 years as treasurer. Despite stepping down as treasurer Morlan will continue to remain a member of the PCHS society board as he was re-elected to a three-year term.

Also re-elected to the board were Dean Vikan of Fosston and John Vraa of Climax. Steve Hannah of Fisher was also elected to a three-year term.

The Polk County Historical Society has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic throughout 2020. While the annual meeting was held, the museum was not opened this summer due to Governor Walz’s orders and the Stay Safe Minnesota plans.
