Minnesota Hockey has announced the finalists for the 2021 Minnesota Hockey Essay Contest. Entries for the contest were submitted by boys and girls of all ages from around the state on the topic of “Hockey Is Important To Me Because…”, and Crookston’s Hattie Hanson is one of the three finalists.
- Caden Cole, a Bantam player from Duluth Amateur Hockey Association
- Lena Fenske, a 10U player from Andover Youth Hockey Association
- Hattie Hanson, an 8U player from Crookston Blue Line Hockey Club
All three finalists will be featured in Let’s Play Hockey magazine. The contest winner will be randomly selected and announced on February 27. The winner will receive a “Dream Day” experience on a Minnesota Wild gameday during the 2021-22 season. The “Dream Day” includes attending a Minnesota Wild morning skate, an hour of ice time at Xcel Energy Center and, a group suite at a Wild game later that night.
The essays will be on Fox Sports North on February 27 and after the Minnesota Wild game, the randomly selected winner will be announced.
