Dallas Leroy Stortroen, a beloved member of the Climax community, passed away on August 3, 2023, at the Benedictine Living Community in Crookston, Minnesota. He will be remembered as a hardworking individual with a vibrant personality and numerous interests.

Born on December 25, 1940, in Crookston, Minnesota, to loving parents Morris and Georgia (Koppang) Stortroen; Dallas grew up surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the state. After attending Climax High School, he embarked on a career that would span several industries. Dallas worked diligently for the Corner Gas Station in Climax, where his friendly demeanor and dedicated service earned him the respect of his colleagues and customers. He then pursued his passion for driving as a truck driver for Ryan Potato and Britton Transport, leaving an indelible mark on the transportation industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dallas was known for his zest for life and charismatic personality. He possessed a remarkable sense of direction – a trait that astounded those who knew him well. His trucker stories not only entertained but provided glimpses into the vastness and diversity of our world.

Outside of work, Dallas cherished his hobbies and interests. He was an avid fan of classic television shows such as “The Andy Griffith Show” and old Western films. Moreover, Dallas found solace in his faith as a member of both the East Grand Forks Bible Baptist Church and later Bible Baptist of Crookston.
