Dan “Danny” Thompson, age 69, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Dan Keith Thompson was born June 10, 1952, in Ada, MN, to Kalmer and Gloria “Bootsie” (Albertson) Thompson. Danny grew up as the oldest of 5 siblings and attended Twin Valley High School. He then began working for Krueger’s Metal Recycling for several years. While living in Twin Valley, Danny worked for Bomans, driving semi over-the-road, which allowed him to see much of the country. Later, he worked construction with Roering Construction. In 1985, Danny was blessed to have Tanaya join his family. Danny’s health began to fail in the late 1990s, so he was forced to start his retirement. He moved to the family farm in 2015 and continued to care for the home. In 2018, Danny made his home at the Valley Pine Apartments in Twin Valley.
Danny enjoyed spending time outdoors. His time hunting and fishing with friends and loved ones was his most cherished times. Danny was known for being a jokester, always making sure to give everyone a good laugh. Like all good stories, they may have grown with time, and all loved to hear them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Danny is survived by his siblings: Jenifer (Mark) Spielman of Twin Valley, Sandi (Darrel) Seeger of Pelican Rapids, MN, Jane Thompson of Fargo, ND, and Steven (Sarina) Thompson of Wyndmere, ND; nieces and nephews, Kay, Kelly, Tammi, Stefanie, Dustin, Kyle, Sanitha, and Lily; and 2 aunts and many cousins as well as Tanaya, who was like a daughter to him.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A time of gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 P.M, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
