Daniel Jon Romuld – Obit

Daniel (Dan) Jon Romuld, 72, of Grand Forks ND, passed away on February 9, 2022, at the Grand Forks Altru Hospital.  He was in the presence of his wife, Linda, and daughter, Cassandra.

In Crookston MN, on the 11th day of July 1949, Dan, the first of four children was born to John (Jack) and Helen (Reitmeier) Romuld.  He was baptized in the Christian faith and affirmed his belief in Jesus his Savior at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Crookston.

Dan graduated from Central High School with the class of 1967 and was a ‘Pirate High’ 5-year football letterman. Following high school, Dan met his future bride, Linda Lou Moen of Fisher MN, and was married in November 1971 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church with a ceremony of vows conducted by Reverend Alfred Oelshlager.   They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, in November 2021.  The couple settled in Crookston and moved to Grand Forks ND when blessed by the birth of their daughter, Cassandra Lynn (Cassie) in 1978.

Following high school, Dan became a journeyman bricklayer and mastered many additional construction skills. He started Dan Romuld Construction working on numerous projects over his lifetime from commercial buildings to single-family home construction and remodeling.  Dan’s talents did not stop with construction.  He was adept at fixing and rebuilding cars and also took great pride in rebuilding aircraft.  Dan obtained his private pilot license in 1972, finding great peace and joy flying over the area looking down on familiar sights from the best vantage point there could be. When not flying, Dan thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors in other ways through fishing, hunting, boating, and cruising on his motorcycle.

Dan loved his family dearly.  He and Linda were very proud of Cassie and her family.  He will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who were touched by his life.

Dan leaves his beloved, Linda; their daughter, Cassie Harrow of Grand Forks ND, and two precious grandchildren, Roman Paul and Aryanna “Ana” Trinity Harrow; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Kenneth Wurst of Roseville MN and Vikki and Bryan Russell of Mahtomedi MN; sister-in-law, Kathy Romuld of Bonita Springs FL; sister-in-law, Fern (Allen) Melbye; brothers-in-law, Myran Moen and Kevin Moen; nieces and nephews: Steve (Jody), Michelle (Dan), Shane (Deborah), Leah (Kiera), Joe (Nicole), Jessica (Chris), Gwen, Garlyn (Mandi), Gerlyn (Melanie), Chris, Kyle, Karly, Konner, Darla and Garen.  The greats surviving great-uncle Dan:  Emily, Lauren, Benjamin, Jonah, Jack, Luke, Lexi, Ryann, Blake, Sadie, Harper, Avianna, and Holden; step-brothers, Mark and Rick Polles; and step-sisters, Kathy (Steve) Martin and Joan (Tom) Morlan.
