David Michael Vogt – OBIT

David Michael Vogt, age 47, sadly passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 2, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1978, in Anchorage, Alaska, to loving parents Russ and Teresa (Forrester) Vogt.

David grew up in both California and Alaska, traveling back and forth until he graduated from high school with the class of 1997. After graduating, David returned to Alaska before moving to Nebraska to work with his uncle which led him to Crookston, MN, where he accepted a job at Dee Manufacturing. Dave quickly became a part of the community and began making friends, he always had the type of personality that simply drew people to him. His personality was one that always put others before himself, he rarely went a week without picking up the phone to check on his siblings, his mom, or his friends; he was a caretaker at heart which was apparent in the way her treated everyone who loved him. Among those drawn in was April Brown, who became friends with Dave in 2003 and after three years of knowing one another, they fell in love and were together since 2006. Dave could truly say he ended up with his best-friend, he became a step father and raised two children as if they were his own.

David had so many passions in life, fishing being one of his biggest; one of Dave’s proudest accomplishments that deserves mentioning was buying a G3 fishing boat. He also loved to hunt snowboard, skateboard, and travel as much as he could. He loved to cook dinner for his friends and family, and always had a goofy smile for everyone. Dave was a man that people were proud to have known, grateful to have known, and will deeply miss him every day.

May God bless the memory of David Michael Vogt.

David is survived by his best-friend and spouse, April Brown; Step-Children, Desmoind and Sheyenne Brown; his loving mother, Teresa (Greg); Mike (Kim); father-in-law, Russ (Linda) Brown; Aunt’s, Cindy (Don) Slaughter, Sandi (Markus) Vogt, Valera (Mike) Brickel, Deborah Lee; Uncles, Robert Vogt, Mark (Donna) Forrester, Grandfather, Cal (Karen) Forrester, Nieces and Nephews: Mercedez Brown, Rylee Anderson, Sparrow Davis, Hunter and Parker Vuocolo, Aiden and Eathan Harper-Smith, and Alexander Hickerson; Grand-puppy, Aquaria; brothers and sisters: Daniel Andersen (Jey), Tiffany (Nick) Harper-Smith, Kaitlyn (Nicolas) Vuocolo; sister-in-law, Stacey (David) Brown; as well as numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.
