UPDATE 1/22 11:35 A.M.

The victim in this case has been identified as Bradley Beiswenger, 36 y/o, no permanent address. While the investigation is continuing, carbon monoxide poisoning may have been a factor in Beiswenger’s death. It appears as though he had sleeping in the cargo area of the pickup and using a propane heater to stay warm. The official cause of death has not yet been determined; however, there are no signs of foul play.
The Grand Forks Police Department would like to encourage people without a safe and warm place to stay to reach out to local resources such as the Northland Rescue Mission. The GFPD can provide other resources as well and we encourage those in need to contact our Homeless Liaison Officer for assistance.
