DONORS SURPASS RIVERVIEW FOUNDATION’S GIVING HEARTS DAY GOAL

Giving Hearts Day (GHD) donors went above and beyond last week to fund state-of-the-art lab analyzers and various other projects for RiverView Health.

The RiverView Foundation received 242 gifts during the 24-hour fundraiser totaling more than $193,000.

“Each year, I am amazed and humbled by the support we not only receive on Giving Hearts but throughout the year to keep quality healthcare close to home,” shared Foundation Director Randy Schoenborn. “Thank you to everyone for their level of confidence, support, and trust.”

The Foundation Board of Directors determined undesignated 2023 GHD contributions go to the purchase of the lab analyzers at the cost of $125,000.

“The lab equipment will benefit our patients, just like the many programs, funds, and projects started and sustained with Giving Hearts Day donations have in the past,’’ said Schoenborn.

Participating in GHD since its 2008 start, the Foundation has raised over $2.3 million through the online event. The overall tally for the North Dakota and northwest Minnesota charities participating on February 9 came to $26.1 million. To date, the annual event has raised over $138 million for the nonprofits.
