DOROTHY “DOTSIE” LOUISE (DAHL) BRULE – OBIT

Dorothy “Dotsie” Louise (Dahl) Brule, 64, of East Grand Forks MN, passed away June 4, 2021 at Villa St Vincent in Crookston. 

Dotsie was born on June 3, 1957 in Crookston, MN to Julius and Mildred (Knutson) Dahl. Dotsie was married to Wayne Brule in 1976 and they had 3 children. Dotsie worked at Montague’s Flower Shop in Crookston as a Floral Designer and continued that career in the Twin Cities, Fargo, and East Grand Forks in the years following. Dotsie was an active member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary for many years and also enjoyed crocheting, bowling, watching soap operas and playing BINGO with friends and family.

Loving family members include her children, Christy Brule of Plymouth, MN, Wendy (Jay) Sellers of Phoenix, AZ, Ricky (Susan) Brule of Ham Lake, MN; 7 grandchildren; snd siblings, Maxine Quamme of Thief River Falls, MN; Linda Plante, Bill (Ruth) Knutson, Julian Dahl, and Carol Ann (Morris) Nelson, all of Crookston, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished relatives.

Dotsie was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Julius; uncles, Elling, Guy, Art and Fred Knuston; and aunts Alice Lattman and Grace Quamme.

Memorial service celebrating Dotsie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN, with a time of visitation one hour before.  Pastor Steve Bohler will officiate. The service will be livestreamed by logging on to www.stenshoelhouske.com five minutes before the service time, going to Dotsie’s obituary, and following the prompt on the page to view.  Inurnment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
