Dr. Lukas Biermaier, of Biermaier Chiropractic, was recently named one of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association’s 2024 Young Practitioners of the Year. This is not the first time he has received this award, but as he explained, it is most definitely the last time he can possibly receive it. “This award is kind of entertaining because I’m still considered young, but this is the last year I could be eligible for the award because you have to be ten years or less in practice,” says Biermaier. “I started practicing here at Biermaier Chiropractic Clinic in 2015. So, the award is given to a young practitioner, anyone with ten years or less in practice. I did receive this award back in 2017 as well.”
What kind of criteria are used to give out this award? “The big part of the award is just a Chiropractor in the state of Minnesota that goes above and beyond to help with chiropractic things, whether it’s just simply being a professional in the community and being out and about in the community,” says Biermaier. “We really strive to do that at our clinic, but also help out with the Minnesota Chiropractic Association down in the cities.” Biermaier says some things he helps out with and attends are Day at the Capital Events, and hosting a fun chiropractic pheasant hunt and seminar every year.
Biermaier says that the award is given based on nominations, although he does not know who nominated him this year. “It is a nomination process, and I have no idea who nominated me this year, so it is kind of a fun surprise award on this one,” says Biermaier. “There were three of us total that got the Young Practitioners Award; they do it somewhat by district, so our Northwest District is pretty broad, there is a lot of area to cover. There are quite a few chiropractors, so we go all the way up to the Roseau, Baudette area, and all the way down to past Moorhead and over basically to Central Minnesota. Quite a few chiropractors in the area, so I am just honored to be considered for the award and to receive the award.”
Biermaier says they are keeping really busy at Biermaier Chiropractic. “Still have my dad, Dr. Steve, here full-time, and he is busier than ever, which is great,” says Biermaier. “We also added a new provider here this last year. Her name is Rachael Caroselli, and she has been a really nice addition to the clinic.”
Biermaier bought the practice from his father, Dr. Steve Biermaier, a year ago and says things have gone really smoothly. He is a busy man with his practice and his ever-growing family. We asked if he still loves what he is doing. “I love it every day. I was born and raised in the community and have enjoyed the community ever since I’ve gotten back. It’s picking up on some of the things, seeing the same people and working with the same people,” says Biermaier. “I still do my sports med stuff, so I’m still kind of the team doctor for the high school as well, and that is still a blessing.”
Back to that growing family we mentioned. Biermaier now has a split household of three girls and three boys. “We also added our sixth child recently. My wife, Heidi Biermaier, is a teacher at the Cathedral School; she is still teaching over there,” says Biermaier. “We enjoyed adding our sixth child. It’s been kind of a crazy start to 2025, I guess, but it’s been going very well. We have enjoyed growing our family here in Crookston as well, and the community is nothing but supportive.”
Dr. Biermaier is grateful for his family, community, and patients. He plans to continue his work as it is so rewarding. “Honestly, one of the cool things about receiving the award is just an acknowledgement of trying to strive to be the best chiropractors and professionals we can be in the community and provide the highest quality care for Crookston, Minnesota, and the surrounding area,”
Congratulations to Dr. Lukas Biermaier on being named one of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association’s 2024 Young Practitioners of the Year.
