On Thursday, July 02, 2020, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Officers of the Grand Forks Police were dispatched to a reckless driving complaint near Demers Ave. The suspect vehicle was located near 10th Ave. South and Cottonwood Street parked. As the Officer walked up to the vehicle to speak with the driver the female driver got back into the vehicle and refused to engage Officers.
The female then left the parking lot in the vehicle and before the Officer could return to his patrol car, the suspect vehicle was involved in an accident at 10th and Oak Street where she struck a tree on the berm The driver was identified as 32-year-old Grand Forks resident Lisa Osowski who was driving a 1988 Dodge van. The only passenger of the vehicle was an infant child who was in a car seat. Both Osowski and the child were treated and released at the scene.
Osowski was arrested for fleeing, DUI refusal, and DUI with a minor present. Osowski was transported and confined at Grand Forks County Corrections. The child was released to a family member.
Grand Forks Police were assisted by the Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru paramedics.
