Crookston Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) held its annual Build a Wood project on Tuesday night in the Washington School Gym. Children arrived with their parents and grandparents, brought their hammers and screwdrivers, and were able to choose a birdhouse, stool, treasure box, or shelf to build. 24 projects were completed, and great memories were made.
Woodworking with young children offers many important benefits, fostering their fine motor, cognitive, and emotional development, among others. It also introduces children to math and science concepts and builds relationships with adults, guiding them through the planning and building process.
