Eleanor Qualley, 96, of Crookston, MN, formerly of Mentor, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Villa St Vincent, Crookston, MN.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Bill Humiston officiating. Burial will be held at Rosehill Cemetery near Mentor, MN later in the spring. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Eleanor Margaret Qualley was born on August 7, 1925, on the family farm near Beltrami, MN the daughter of Oscar Helmer and Anna Mancena (Anderson) Johnson. She was raised and attended a rural school near Beltrami. She worked as a waitress at Hibbing, MN.
On December 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to John Qualley in Concordia Church in Fertile, MN. To this union, 3 children were born Doug, Ron and Judith. The couple made their home on the Qualley family farm where they lived their entire lives. They raised livestock, hay, and grain. After her children were raised Eleanor went to work as a nurse’s aid for several years. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She was a member of Maple Bay Lutheran Church.
Eleanor is survived by her children Doug (Lynn) Qualley of Crookston, MN, Ron Qualley at Mentor, Mn and Judith Anderson of Red Lake Falls, MN; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Arlene Ortloff of Crookston, MN; along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John, and parents Oscar and Anna Johnson, grandsons Chad Qualley and Scott Anderson.
