Emily E. Jackson – Obit

Emily E. Jackson, 88, Dilworth, MN, formerly of Ada and rural Gary, MN, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care in Dilworth.

Emily Eldoris Jackson was born on July 7, 1933, to Raymond and Lorena (Meyer) Hacker in Canby, MN. She was baptized in Canby and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Madison, MN. Emily attended country school in rural Canby until the 6th grade. She then attended Madison High School until the 10th grade. Emily graduated in 1951 from Nevis High School where she attended her 11th and 12 grade years.

Emily married Harry Cossentine in 1955 and he passed away in 1966. Emily then married Sid Jackson on July 31, 1971, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada.

Over the years Emily worked at Great Plains just outside of Ada and for Jackson Gravel alongside Sid. She also did home nursing with Multi-County Nursing in Ada and volunteered at the Gary Senior Center and Bridges Care Community where she very much enjoyed her time with the residents. Emily’s care and concern for others along with her nurturing nature made her genuinely loved by everyone who met her. Her “One-Liners” were something Emily was known and appreciated for, she loved to joke and have fun with family and friends, especially with her Serenity Family.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Thressa (Claude) Dingmann, Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Lucas (Becky) Dingmann, Sartell, MN, and April Dingmann (Glenn Morrison), Sartell, MN; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Hallee Lincoln, and Brooklyn; and her Serenity Family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lorena; husband, Harry; husband, Sid; brothers, Johann Hacker, Delmer Hacker, and Eldon Hacker; sister, Elna Wambolt; and great-grandchildren, Destinee and Hayden.

Funeral: 1:00 PM, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN. Due to COVID 19 concerns please wear a mask when attending the visitation and funeral.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the funeral home.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
