ERSKINE MAN LEADS AUTHORITIES ON CHASE, ARRESTED AFTER TWO HOURS

On July 14 at approximately 1:17 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on North Vance Avenue in the City of Erskine.  A distraught male left the area in a motor vehicle.

Deputies located the vehicle in Erskine and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver then fled in the vehicle and deputies initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit, the driver drove into a cornfield in Lessor Township.
Deputies established a perimeter until additional law enforcement assistance arrived to begin conducting a search of the area.
At approximately 3:33 a.m., Brian E Murray (age 49) of Erskine surrendered to a Polk County deputy without incident. He was placed under arrest and transported to Riverview Hospital and later to the Northwest Regional Correction Center.  Mr. Murray will be held until he is able to appear in court in Polk County.
The Essentia Ambulance Service, Minnesota State Patrol, Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office UAV team also responded to this incident.
