Eunice M. Slininger – Obit

Eunice M. Slininger, 72, Ada, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Eunice Mae Slininger was born on July 23, 1950, to Russell and Lorraine (Benesh) Slinninger in Ada, MN, the youngest of 5 children. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada and was a lifelong member. Eunice graduated from Ada High School in 1970 and went on to attend Wadena Technical College and pursued a degree in Business and Office Management, graduating in 1971.

Eunice began her career in Ada working at Cenex in the bookkeeping department. Then moving to work for the City of Ada in 1978 until her retirement in 2009.

Eunice was a member of the Ada VFW Auxiliary. She had a creative side, enjoying sewing and making wedding dresses, crafting, and gardening. She took trips to Alaska, Las Vegas, Miami, Wyoming, Winnipeg, and many other places. She also went to South Dakota to the Black Hills, and Storybook Land in Aberdeen, where she rode a merry-go-round for the very first time at age 62. She was a very social person and had a witty sense of humor. Many were blessed to call Eunice their friend.

Eunice wanted to tell everyone that she loved them!

She is survived by brother, Dean Slininger, Ada, MN; sister, Carol (Loren) Sturdevant, Glenrock, WY; brothers-in-law, Leo Jacobson and Larry Wold; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and cousins; adopted daughters, Gretchen (Chad Flink) Hall and Shannon (Kevin) Westcott; and 12 adopted grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Lorraine; sisters, Ardell Wold and Beverly Jacobson; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Granny) Slininger; special friend, Marilyn Lee; and adopted daughter, Melanie Hall.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the church.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
