FATAL CRASH IN MAHNOMEN COUNTY LEAVES ONE DEAD, SIX INJURED

Names of the victims involved in the fatal crash in Mahnomen County released.  

Alexis Clark, 23 of Fertile, MN, was killed in the crash on Wednesday, and six others were injured, including Thelma Vanvalkenburgh, 81 of Naytahwaush, MN; Holly Alger, 56 of Mahnomen, MN; Chris Kier, 27 of Naytahwaush, MN; and three children aged 5 years, 2 years, and 10 months. 

ORIGINAL STORY

On Wednesday, June 12 at approximately 5:40 p.m. the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle accident on 250th St east of County Road 3.  The road is gravel, and the two vehicles met head-on at the crest of a hill.

There were a total of seven people involved in the accident; four adults and three children.  All seven were injured, one fatally.  Six of the involved were flown to Fargo via life flight, and one via ambulance. 

At this time the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing the name of the victim who has passed to give the family time to notify family members.
