FIVE LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS WILL PARTAKE IN GIVING HEARTS DAY THIS THURSDAY

Giving Hearts Day is this Thursday, where organizations around Northwest Minnesota and North Dakota will be reaching out for donations and volunteers for various projects and improvements. Some of these organizations include;

The Benedictine Living Community in Crookston will be partaking to raise funds for services in the Community. All the funds raised on Giving Hearts Day will be going towards one of their largest projects and greatest needs: the repairs and updates to their elevators. There are two elevators in The Summit Assisted Living and a service elevator between the Villa and the Summit that are all in need of repair. With the kitchen being located in the basement of the Summit, all of the food is brought over to the Villa on carts, and the only way that allows them to do so is using the service elevator. The food that is prepared for the children at the Cathedral School is also prepared in this kitchen and brought up on a cart each day to be picked up and brought over to the school. The tenants at the Summit need to use the service elevator to get to the Chapel and various activities that are held at The Villa. The BLC-C will host a drive-through donut and coffee event on Giving Hearts Day, on February 9, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Scruffy Tails Humane Society will also be matching donations on Giving Hearts Day! Now is your chance to double your impact in caring for the lost and homeless pets in your area. The funds will be used to help with much-needed renovations to their kennels and other parts of the building.

The RiverView Foundation is also partaking in Giving Hearts Day on February 9 to benefit the patients RiverView Health serves. The Foundation Board has determined that undesignated 2023 Giving Hearts Day contributions will be used to purchase an Abbott Architect and Sysmex analyzers for the RiverView Laboratory at an estimated cost of $125,000:

The Crookston Cathedral School will also be partaking in Giving Hearts Day for various improvements to the school.

Last but not least, the Crookston Care & Share will be partaking in Giving Hearts Day for repairs to their boiler room, donations to their food shelf, and the purchase of new beds for the Hope Center.

If you would like to give to any of these organizations or any other participating organization in Northwest Minnesota and North Dakota on or before February 9, you can go to www.GivingHeartsDay.org and search for any participating organization under Ways To Give.
