Five New Childcare Providers Welcomed With Baskets

Welcome to the Business of Family Child Care

Child care options in our community continue to be considered a crisis, especially for families with infants and toddlers.  The topic continues to be front page news as we try to figure out how to solve the problem.  The DEED grant awarded to our community has provided funding opportunities for new people interested in becoming Licensed Family Child Care Providers, adding spots for families needing care.
The Crookston Early Childhood Summit and Crookston Early Childhood Initiative have teamed up to provide new providers with a welcome basket filled with educational materials, early childhood resources, and information to share with the families they serve.  We would like to welcome five new providers into the business of child care: Lizzy Awender (pictured with the kids in her care), Amber Kunstleben, Mandie Stoe, Bobbie Jo Hebert, and Stephanie Nelson.
If you are interested in becoming a Licensed Family Child Care Provider, please contact Maureen Hams at Tri-Valley Opportunity Council 218-281-5831 or mhams@tvoc.org.   Please join Maureen on November 5 at 6:30 at 102 North Broadway in Crookston for an informational session about providing child care in your home.
