FUNDRAISER FOR THE JACKSON SEIBEL FAMILY WILL BE HELD JUNE 8 AT THE CROOKSTON INN

A spaghetti feed and silent auction fundraiser will be held for Jackson Seibel, son of Jess and Garett Bengston on Tuesday, June 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Crookston Inn.

Seibel, a 2018 Crookston High School graduate, is undergoing intense treatment to fight a relapse of Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Jackson was first diagnosed in 2018 and underwent chemotherapy and radiation at Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo.  Now, his oncologists will try new chemotherapy drugs and new cure methods including a stem cell transplant at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  Proceeds from the event will go toward medical and travel-related expenses.  Event organizer Nell DeBoer said Jess and Jackson will be spending a lot of time in Rochester.

“Jess and Jackson will spend approximately two months at the Mayo Clinic,” said DeBoer. “Garret will be back home with his daughter Violet and the dog, working his job and we really wanted to help them out.”

There will be a lot of silent auction items and one big item that will be raffled off. “We are going to do a lot of things,” said DeBoer. “We will have a bunch of silent auction items and we will have a very large item that will be given away by purchasing a ticket to win it.  If anybody wants to bring a donation item, we have a lot of gift certificates, gas cards, food cards, Hugo’s gift cards, and anything like that for the family.”

Jackson’s mom, Jess Bengston works at the Crookston Times and is active in many community clubs and events, including being the chair of the Ox Cart Days Festival.  Garrett Bengston works at New Flyer and is also a volunteer firefighter.

If you wish to donate an auction item, call Laurie at 470-1000.  If you are unable to attend and would like to donate, a fund has been set up at American Federal Bank in Crookston.
