GRAND FORKS BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS, AND SPECIAL EVENT COORDINATORS INVITED TO DISTRIBUTE FREE AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTING KITS

Grand Forks Public Health (GFPH) is inviting businesses, organizations, and special event coordinators to participate in the distribution of FREE at-home COVID-19 test kits. Those choosing to participate can distribute kits internally (for employees and their family members) or externally (for public use). The at-home test kits are provided by the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH).

These at-home rapid test kits are easy to use, are authorized for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and provide quick results. There are two brands of tests available: Celltrion and iHealth. Celltrion should NOT be used for those younger than age 14. None of the tests are authorized for use in children under age 2. Children under 2 years should be tested at community testing locations or clinics. At home-test results are not required to be reported to NDDoH or GFPH but can help an individual take appropriate action to monitor their health and prevent the spread of COVID-19 to others.

Grand Forks County businesses and organizations interested in becoming a distribution location are invited to complete the online contact form found at www.grandforksgov.com/hometestrequest or call 701.787.8100 for more information. For special events, Grand Forks Public Health may be able to provide a public health specialist to assist with distribution and education regarding test kits.
