GRAND FORKS FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE

At approximately 4:34 PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 2450 30th Avenue South for a report of a fire showing from the exterior of the structure.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a small amount of fire showing through the building’s siding near the floor. Crews worked to extinguish the fire on the exterior of the structure and in the crawl space. The building sustained minimal damage, and only the tenants directly above the fire were displaced from their apartment. Housing accommodations were made through American Red Cross. There were no injuries to any occupants or fire personnel.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck, and one command vehicle with twenty-one personnel. The fire is still under investigation at this time.

The fire department was assisted by the Grand Forks Police Department, Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department, Altru, and the American Red Cross.
