GRAND FORKS FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE EARLY TUESDAY MORNING

At approximately 3:42 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the Grand Forks Fire
Department was dispatched to 4375 24th Avenue North for a possible structure
fire.

When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found an abnormally large amount of
smoke coming from the roof vent of the building. After investigating, they found a
fire confined to the heater of the building, which was quickly extinguished. Fire
damages were contained to the furnace.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck, and
one command vehicle with seventeen personnel. There were no injuries to the
public or fire service personnel. The Fire Department was assisted by the Grand
Forks County Sheriff’s Office, the Grand Forks Police Department, and Altru
Ambulance.
