On Tuesday, June 27, at about 5:09 p.m., Grand Forks Police Officers were dispatched to 515 North 8th St. regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who had been stabbed. The victim and witnesses said the man who had done the stabbing had left. Altru Ambulance and Grand Forks Fire tended to the victim, then transported him to Altru Hospital.
Officers located the suspect, Eldrey Lane, age 48, of Grand Forks, a few blocks away. He was arrested for Aggravated Assault and taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. The victim’s condition is not known currently. There was no danger to the public, and the victim knew the suspect.
