On Friday, June 29, officers from the Grand Forks Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop of a Gray SUV, which failed to stop for the Officers. The vehicle fled from Officers and continued Eastbound on Demers Ave. and entered into East Grand Forks. The vehicle continued into EGF residential areas, coming to a stop in the 100 block of 4th St. NE East Grand Forks.
The driver of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and fled on foot from Officers who continued to pursue the driver on foot. The suspect then entered an apartment complex where the suspect was found hiding and eventually apprehended.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Monitez Henry, 33 of Grand Forks and he was arrested on several outstanding warrants and other criminal charges related to the pursuit. Henry was confined to the Tri-County Correctional Center.
