The Grand Forks Police Department conducted Alcohol Compliance checks with the assistance of area youths on September 22, 2022. A total of 18 businesses were checked. Out of the 18 checked, three businesses failed. The failed businesses were Applebee’s, Paradiso, and the Long-Haul Saloon. The Grand Forks Police Department conducts several compliance checks each year.
The Police Department uses youth from the community under 21 years of age. The youth enter an alcohol establishment under the supervision of a police officer in accordance with city ordinance 21-0228. The youth attempts to purchase alcohol while in no way concealing their actual age.
