On April 14, 2022, around 6:30 p.m., GFPD officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of So. 18th St. for a Discharge of a Firearm within City Limits call. Officers made contact with the suspect, Jill Mudge, age 38, of Grand Forks.
Officers’ were able to find a bullet hole in the living room floor. The bullet went through the floor and struck a cement wall in the basement. No one was in the basement during that time.
Mudge will have a charge for Discharging a Firearm within City Limits. Mudge was arrested for Reckless Endangerment. Mudge’s boyfriend was nearby when the firearm was discharged.
The Grand Forks Police Department responds to several of these calls per year and would like to remind people to properly check or handle any firearm in a safe manner.
