GRAND FORKS POLICE RESPOND TO CAR V. PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT

On Thursday, October 13, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Grand Forks Police Officers were dispatched to Demers Ave and North 3rd St for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Demers Ave, and the pedestrian was crossing Demers to the North when he was struck.

Both the pedestrian and driver were on the scene when officers arrived.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries from the crash and was transported from the scene via ambulance for treatment.

  • The pedestrian was identified as Hunter Bjorgaard of Bemidji, MN, and was transported to Altru Hospital where he is continuing treatment for his injuries.
  • The driver of the 1994 GMC truck was identified as Wade Strande of Thompson, ND. He was not injured in this crash.

No charges have been forwarded at this time.
